Say Goodbye… IE6

I think it’s way beyond time to say goodbye to IE6, I have already done this myself. I decided not to waist valuable time debugging for a browser that Google dropped from its support list. Products like YouTube and Google Docs to name a few. You can get more information by reading this article; modern browsers for modern applications .
This is probably the best decision I have heard in a real long time, and its not because i dislike Microsoft products, I use them everyday. iE6 has been a horrible, buggy, and unpredictable browser from the start. Any new coding techniques normally require multiple hacks to work in IE6. With deadlines and mounting projects who has time to develop not only great looking well performing web sites, but also code IE6 hacks to simulate what html, css, and jquery can do flawlessly in most current versions of all the top browsers today.
I encourage everyone to do the same as Google and drop support for IE 6. Microsoft is even urging people to say goodbye to IE 6.
For those of you who are serious about keeping IE6, you might want to check out this browser version comparison chart from Microsoft that compares the different versions of IE. There are lots of reasons why IE 7 and IE 8 are much better choice than IE 6.
I guess its possible that some of us are using the browser provided by our IT department, or that comes with the computer you are working on, or maybe it is required by management or so you think. If that is the case you might want to send them this information. It has resources to help get you and your fellow workers away from IE 6, it shows case studies of the benefits of moving to a more updated browser, and much more.
So, I will leave it at that, the choice is yours. Maybe if you how easy it is to upgrade, you would, try it. it’s free.
